Everything Causes Cancer These Days – Yes Even Shower Curtains

I was in the kitchen today, about to warm myself some soup in the microwave. The soup was in a plastic Tupperware box, microwaveable, dishwasher safe, the whole deal. Just as I was about to put the plastic bowl in the microwave, my mother stopped me. “Sandhya, please don’t warm it in that. They are saying now that warming plastic containers released carcinogenic materials. It’ll give you cancer.”
I shrugged my shoulders and replied, “But everything gives you cancer these days. What do I really have left?” Still, I complied and dumped the leftover soup into a ceramic bowl. (more…)
