What’s New

July 11, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I was at a couple of day long events with Campus Progress this week, including a journalism conference. Today I’m also flying out to Seattle for a couple of weeks. Trust me, I’ll update very soon with new things. I didn’t go listen to John Edwards, and Pulitzer Prize winners Seymour Hersh and Jose Antonio Vargas without a notepad in hand.

Out of Luck

June 21, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Sorry folks, I just don’t have the energy to churn anything new out for today and I’m running low on older articles that I still find “acceptable”. Perhaps I’ll add two tomorrow or something.

Cheers,

Sandhya

New Slang

June 17, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I’ll admit that I’m not up to cranking out a full article or personal essay today. I’m going to browse the top headlines and see if anything inspires me to write something new. If not, I have another profile of an artist that you might be interested in reading.

I also encourage you to read Umbilical Chord, the daily music blog I co-author. Enjoy!

Fight For Your Write – an introduction of sorts

June 9, 2008 · 2 Comments

These days, everyone thinks that they’re a writer. In an age of instant gratification, anyone with a computer and an internet connection is suddenly a citizen journalist; someone with a livejournal is an instantly published memoirist, and thanks to sites like fanfiction.net – the awkward guy down the hall is an auteur.

Welcome to the age of mass media.

Grab a computer and type in what’s on your mind and bingo, what you’ve just written is now available to millions and millions of other people around the world. Blogging is at the forefront of this new media age.

Music blogs. Recipe Blogs. Politics Blogs. Comic Blogs. News blogs. Entertainment Blogs.

Blogs, Blogs, Blogs.

And what better way to examine the world of blogging and its relation to other forms of media than by partaking in this crazy trend myself. I don’t claim to be an expert on any one subject. I don’t have a ph.D. or a masters. I’m a college student with a few fresh ideas, and an earnest passion for understanding the world around me. I invite you to bookmark this page or share it with others as I plan to showcase a variety of newsy articles and pieces I’ve written and will continue to write. So sit down, grab a cup of coffee, and welcome to your new favorite blog.
